Innovation Leads To Virtual Tasting:
As we wrap up our second week of Shelter in Place orders here in wine country we wanted to say hello; our Team is thinking of you and your families. As we hear from friends, customers and businesses around the country, we are both disheartened by the difficulties everyone is experiencing and encouraged by the resound to stay positive, and be hopeful and gracious as we all navigate the daily news and changes.
So, here’s an update on Conn Valley…first, we are very thankful that all of us at Conn Valley are healthy and can continue doing what we love.
Robert and his team have been topping off barrels and working up blends for the bottling of the 2018 reds (already outstanding in the barrel). Things are a little slow up at the winery since we are closed for tastings, but we have plenty of space for Rob and the guys to practice extreme caution and social distancing, and continue to tend to the wines.
In the vineyard we are finished pruning and now anxiously awaiting bud break. We should see Merlot and Petite Verdot in the next couple of days and Cabernet Sauvignon probably no earlier than the end of next week. This will only put us a couple of days ahead of the 2018 and 2012 vintages for start of the season in spite of the warm and dry February. We’re still hoping for more rain!
Brandii is working from home so she can homeschool her 7 year old son Neven; she is staying busy continuing to take calls from customers, manage all our orders and working hard on upcoming specials as well as preparing for the next Wine Club release, among other projects! For any questions, special requests or help placing an order you can always email her [email protected] com
Dan is staying busy with everything from working with our Distributors in wholesale to cellar work with Robert and even staining furniture so when you all come back, everything will be beautiful!
Todd and Sarah are in the office nearly everyday, busy with the daily operations of the Winery, supporting the Team and special projects in the office, and dealing with a teenager at home. Todd says he’s never worked so hard!
Next week Todd will host the first Virtual Tasting for the S.I.P. packages purchased; we have a second virtual tasting scheduled on April 22nd, so there is still time to S.I.P. and find your favorite wines, and spend some virtual time with Todd. Please check out our website here to S.I.P. and Shop!
Cheers to great health, great friends and great wine!
